The study surveyed more than 1,000 IT decision makers in the United States and beyond to gather more information about enterprise communications technologies, adoption rates, and concerns for those who have purchasing power within organizations.

The study found that many of these decision-makers will require additional education about Unified Communications and other technologies before they will be ready to make a purchase. Unsurprisingly, the recommendation in the report is that Unified Communications and other business communications product vendors should take a more consultative approach to sales to help educate IT leaders about the benefits of a new enterprise solution.

IT investments in the next three years are expected to be driven by increasing numbers of remote workers, as well as the growth of BYOD, or Bring Your Own Device, wherein workers use their personal smartphone and tablet devices for work as well as for personal use. Mobility is also expected to be a large factor for IT investments in coming years.

Lastly, the new report signals growing interest in the use of a single-vendor system for business communications, mostly due to the cost and complexity experienced by IT leaders when it come to managing multi-vendor communication solutions.

At Inflow, we are excited by the growing interest in unified communications and other cutting-edge business communication solutions. Every member of the Inflow team provides the very best in consultation, implementation, and follow-up support to ensure our customers get the most benefit out of their new ShoreTel® Unified Communications system.
